About Our Waxing Services

What waxing services do you offer?

At Beauty Worx we offer full body waxing for women β€” from toes to brows and everything in between. Our waxing menu includes legs (full and half), underarms, arms, back, stomach, facial waxing (brows, upper lip, chin, full face), and intimate waxing including Brazilian waxing.

For everything you need to know about Brazilian waxing specifically, visit our dedicated page: Brazilian Wax FAQ β€” read here.

Do you offer Brazilian waxing?

Yes β€” Brazilian waxing is one of our most popular treatments. We use a speed waxing technique that means most Brazilian appointments are completed in just 10–15 minutes. We have a full dedicated FAQ page covering everything you need to know before booking.

What wax do you use?

We use Advanced+ Stripless Fusion Wax β€” a next-generation professional wax that is a significant step up from traditional salon waxes. Here is why it matters for your skin:

  • Rosin-free formula β€” traditional waxes contain pine resin, which is a common cause of histamine reactions, itchy red bumps, and skin irritation after waxing. Our Advanced+ formula contains no pine resin, making it far gentler on sensitive skin.
  • Ultra-low melting temperature β€” the wax operates at a much lower temperature than traditional hot wax, protecting your skin from heat damage and making the experience significantly more comfortable.
  • Exceptional flexibility β€” unlike older hard waxes that turn brittle and snap during removal, this film-blend formula stays pliable and elastic. It can be applied in large, wafer-thin sections and removed cleanly without tearing.
  • No pre-wax oil required β€” a cleaner, faster treatment with less product on your skin.
  • Powerful 2-in-1 grip β€” applies with the gentle comfort of a hard wax but removes with the hair-grabbing efficiency of a strip wax, capturing both fine and coarse hairs in a single pass.

Is your wax suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes β€” the rosin-free formula significantly reduces the risk of redness, bumps, and irritation that many clients experience with traditional waxes. If you have sensitive skin or have had reactions to waxing in the past, please let us know when booking.

Is waxing at Beauty Worx for women only?

Yes β€” Beauty Worx is a women’s day spa and our waxing services are for women only.

Preparing for Your Waxing Appointment

How long does my hair need to be before waxing?

For best results, hair should be at least 3–5mm long β€” approximately 2–3 weeks of growth after shaving. If hair is too short, the wax cannot grip it effectively.

How should I prepare for my waxing appointment?

  • Ensure hair is at least 3–5mm long
  • Exfoliate the area 24 hours before your appointment
  • Arrive with clean, dry skin β€” free of oils, lotions, and fake tan
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 24 hours before your appointment
  • If you are having facial waxing, arrive without makeup
  • Avoid retinol and AHA/BHA products on the area for 48 hours before waxing

Should I avoid anything before a waxing appointment?

In the 24–48 hours before your appointment, avoid retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and active exfoliants on the area to be waxed, sunbathing and tanning beds, caffeine and alcohol immediately before your appointment, and any other skin treatments in the area. If you are taking Roaccutane or have recently finished a course, please let us know before booking.

During Your Appointment

Does waxing hurt?

There is always some discomfort with waxing β€” but the Advanced+ Stripless Fusion Wax we use is designed to minimise it. The low temperature, rosin-free formula, and single-pass hair removal all contribute to a more comfortable experience than traditional waxing. Most clients find that regular waxing becomes progressively less uncomfortable as the hair grows back finer over time.

How long does a waxing appointment take?

This depends on the areas being treated. A brow wax takes around 15 minutes. A half-leg wax takes approximately 20–30 minutes. A full-leg wax takes 30–45 minutes. Brazilian waxing takes just 10–15 minutes with our speed waxing technique. Please discuss timing when booking so we can schedule appropriately.

Aftercare

What should I do after waxing?

For the first 24–48 hours after waxing: avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and spray tans; avoid heat including saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths; do not apply perfumed products or active skincare to the waxed area; wear loose, breathable clothing; and do not exfoliate the area for at least 48 hours. After 48 hours, begin gentle exfoliation 2–3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs.

How do I prevent ingrown hairs after waxing?

Regular exfoliation is the most effective way to prevent ingrown hairs. Begin gentle exfoliation 48 hours after your waxing appointment and continue 2–3 times per week. Keep the skin moisturised and avoid tight clothing over freshly waxed areas.

How often should I wax?

Most clients wax every 4–6 weeks. Regular waxing weakens the hair follicle over time, meaning hair grows back finer, sparser, and softer with each appointment.

Can I get a spray tan after waxing?

Yes β€” but wait at least 24–48 hours after waxing before your spray tan. Always wax before tanning, never after.
