A Note from Mandy
I hope you are keeping warm. Autumn has disappeared overnight and we are in the middle of winter. Our shortest day and longest night is upon us, so soon everything will be turning around. With the change of new season it also brings a change in the salon, this is why we have created a bumper edition news & promos. We have so much to tell.
Over the past view months I have been on some intense and interesting training courses. I want to share this with you over the next few months and will be introducing new services & products, you can be the first to know about it by just subscribing to our email database. In the past few months we have had a few very exciting things happening. We have had new staff join our fantastic team, new equipment with more specialised services being offered and of course a few new changes made to the salon.
Our commitment and ongoing focus: "To deliver the best service you deserve." We enjoy working together as a team to provide you with the experience to leave relaxed and rejuvenated.
As you can see from our ‘Keeping our clients informed' there is a lot going on... firstly you will notice some new faces around the salon. I am happy to introduce not 1 but 3 new Beauty Therapist to you.
Liana started with us in May and is already being loved by all for her bubbliness, beautiful nature and energy. Liana has a passion for facials and waxing and has taken over the clientele from Jacqui, and, may I say, doing a fantastic job. Liana qualified in Beauty therapy from the Wellington School of Beauty Therapy in 2008. As a qualified therapist she looks forward to providing our clients with her expert advice on how to best care for your skin and recommend the best treatment options for hair removal and all other aspects of beauty therapy.
Sarah - our Nail Technician, already some of you have met her and I am sure you can say she really does great nails and gives good recommendation when it comes to nails and products.We are very exited and fortunate to have such a fantastic team at Beautyworx and Mandy, Liana, Sarah and Amalia is looking forward to meeting new and existing clients. Please feel free to come in and have a chat with them about your beauty and nail needs. ( A photo of the team will be published in August)

Are you worried about your Mole / moles?
That summer sun you've waited all year to enjoy can be irresistible, but there are a few things you need to consider before rushing out and soaking up its soothing rays.
In fact, according to Dr. Viji Narayanan at Seasons Clinic, there are three things people wanting to preserve the health and wellbeing of their skin are advised to consider before exposing themselves to sunlight.
These are:
- how they can reduce the aging effects of sun exposure
- how they can prevent future sun damage
- how they can prevent all types of skin cancers
It's an area of specialty for Dr. Viji, who has individual skin care programmes in place designed to treat and educate clients in all three of these areas. Sun-damaged skin coupled with adverse effects of dietary toxins can be tackled in a number of different ways, says Dr Narayanan, the first of which is through adopting a regular basic skin care routine using a good sunscreen of SPF 20 and above.
Recommended precautions against developing any type of skin cancer include checks with the high resolution SiaScopy and education on the symptoms of pre-cancerous lesions.

The process is simple involving a complete full body health check to evaluate the state of your moles using digital imaging scans. Scanning takes images 2mm beneath the surface of the skin, using advanced image analysis to detect cancer. Regular examinations will also allow for comparisons with previous scans, detecting any changes at an early stage. SIAScopy's accuracy ensures that only the necessary surgery takes place, so you can be confident of the diagnosis your physician is making.
